His Holiness the Dalai Lama has congratulated President Obama on being named the recipient of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize.
In a communication sent today to the President, His Holiness, who is in Washington, D.C., said, “I am pleased that the Nobel Committee has recognized your approach towards resolving international conflicts through the wisdom and power of dialogue.”

Just a quick post on this. While I don’t wholeheartedly agree he hasn’t done anything to deserve it, I think the panel in Oslo might be onto something. I believe the premise behind that he WILL do something is the reason he won. And I think that’s what those of us that voted for him hoped. I fully believe in Obama, and I think this is just the thing to help push him farther toward creating better relationships with the world and encouraging all of us to live better lives for all of humanity, not just Americans. We’ll see though won’t we? Optimism folks, keep it in your hearts, pessimism will do nothing but bring us down.
