Correction RE: Religious Rights Assumption of Obama’s Remarks

Religious Right bloggers and news agencies seem to only be quoting part of the overall statement Obama made recently, which is in it’s entirety below. We know they despise the things he stands for and the fact that he is pushing for the country to be a level playing field for everyone. We are called the “melting pot” of the World for a reason, people know they can come here and not only live peacefully but succeed if they put their all into it.

Rarely do I engage in American politics here on Precious Metal, but I am sick of the way our President is being painted by those that have screwed this country up in the first place. He’s just trying to clean up their mess and they can’t stand the fact there’s a change happening in this country. While he is no savior, President Obama is doing the best he can to freshen the air from a steaming pile of dung that was left for him. Onto the quote…

“One of the great strengths of the United States,” the President said, “is … we have a very large Christian population — we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values.”

  1. Guess I missed what was said. If they are jumping on him for saying this isn’t a Christian nation, I say it’s about damn time one politician gets it (though I know there are many more). Even better this president gets it. Change…. yes, we can.
